Monster Hunter: Iceborne trailer utilises stupid sexy Felyne to showcase new features

Cat creature struts its stuff

Capcom has released two new trailers for its upcoming Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion. The videos feature a gargantuan new creature, ready to stomp out your plans of making it the latest addition to your trophy cabinet. The second video, well, is probably one of the oddest I’ve ever covered here.

But let’s focus on the monster first. The Glavenus is a huge creature, heavily plated in thick armour and defended by two thick rows of horns along its spine. Its most powerful weapon, however, is its monstrous tail, heavy enough to crush fools while edged to a cutting point, essentially making it a blade. Under attack, the Glavenus’ tail glows multiple colours, before becoming red at the height of combat. Looks like you’ll need to bring your A-game for this fight.

The second video shows off the new Seliana hub, a base where hunters can take time out, craft tools, trade items, meet NPCs and generally take some respite from all the chaos of the world at large. Rather than simply show you the base, Capcom has instead chosen to have a Felyne perform… well… a sort of “sexy dance” as it transitions from venue to venue. I don’t know quite what I need at 09:52 on a Thursday morning, but I’m not sure this is it, chief.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne launches on PS4 and Xbox One September 6, with the PC release to follow in 2020.
