Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4‘s advanced access is out, allowing players to enjoy the game’s campaign a few days ahead of full release. And, though that’s reserved only for preorders, the game skyrocketed on Steam charts and clocked in the best reviews for the series in a long time.
In just a couple of days of advanced access, people are loving MW4‘s campaign so much that the game logged in over 108,000 players on Steam alone. With more than 1,000 reviews on Valve’s store, of which 86 percent are positive, MW4 stands as one of the best-received games in Call of Duty‘s recent history, by far outclassing Black Ops 7 and some of its predecessors.

With this stellar success, CoD stands to come back to its 2019 peak, and the game is not even officially out yet. Only those who pre-ordered it can play, but despite that, the numbers are skyrocketing day in and day out. Even I loved it (who could’ve expected that?) despite really, really disliking every installment in CoD between MW2019 and this one.
It truly is a remarkable campaign, and one that will go down in history as one of CoD‘s best. I would have loved to see more gritty and guttural scenes, but even what is included here isn’t playing it “safe” by any means. Safer than MW2 (2009)? Absolutely. But still a pretty hardcore experience nonetheless.
