What do you get when you take a popular turn-based indie title and try to bring all of its charm to iPads? You get the latest iteration of Frozen Synapse, from the fine folks over at Mode 7 Games. Don’t worry good followers of Android, the devs are working on releasing your version shortly after the iPad version.

Frozen Synapse challenges players to eliminate the opposition through effective planning and utilizing the environment to your advantage. It’s clear from the above demonstration that Mode 7 Games put a lot of effort into condensing the UI to better suit the iPad, but that’s not they added. The most interesting new addition to the game is cross-platform play across Windows/Mac/Linux, iPad and Android devices. As mentioned in the video, being able to play your PC friends from the comfort and security of your company’s bathroom stall on your iPad opens up a whole new world of gaming possibilities.

Mode 7 Games has also stated the Red DLC will be making its way to mobile version; as well as being able to start a game on one device and then pick it up on another or your PC. I’ve been looking to add more turn-based games to my gaming diet, and I think that Frozen Synapse will surely hit the spot.
