Mobile game surpasses two million downloads
Mistwalker’s Terra Battle is coming to consoles, the studio announced today.
The tactical role-playing game launched on iOS and Android devices last autumn with an intriguing “Download Starter” campaign, promising new content in correlation with certain milestones. With the mobile game having now surpassed the two million download mark, the team has started developing a console game based on the property.
“We are truly humbled to see Terra Battle achieve this milestone. As every player download expanded both the scope of our game and our imagination to create a richer experience for the fans,” Mistwalker boss Hironobu Sakaguchi said in a statement. “With the console game of Terra Battle underway and the next phase of the Download Starter campaign in motion, we are eager to see how the game will evolve in the coming months.”
Given Terra Battle was my favorite mobile game of 2014, I’m pretty excited to see what Sakaguchi and the rest of Mistwalker have planned for consoles. I’ve had a great time with the app so far and it will be great to see the studio flesh it out into a full-fledged experience.
