Minecraft Live 2023 announced, mob voting begins October 13

As well as news, sneak peaks, and more.

While it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s tough to deny the unbridled success of Minecraft. It’s even available on Xbox Game Pass for anyone who has yet to try out the behemoth sandbox game. Along with this enormous success comes Minecraft Live, and Mojang has just announced this year’s event.

In typical Minecraft fashion, the recent video uploaded to YouTube contains all the cute and instantly recognizable visuals the game is known for. The teaser concludes by saying that the live event will go ahead on October 15 at 1pm EDT.

Along with news and sneak peeks, you’ll also be given the chance to vote for a new mob. This begins on October 13, and you’ll be able to cast your vote via the Minecraft Launcher, the official website, or the “special event server” on Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

The mobs keep coming and they don’t stop coming

Mob voting has been an annual thing in Minecraft for a few years now. It gives the fans the opportunity to decide which creature of a possible selection should get added to the game in a future update. Last year it was the sniffer.

We don’t know which ones you’ll get to vote on just yet. The studio said in a recent post that more details will be announced at the beginning of October.

As for what else will be featured during Minecraft Live, we can’t be certain of that either. All we know is the event gives the developer a chance to “share snippets of what you can expect in the future” in both Minecraft and Minecraft: Legends.
