I’m going to pretend that you didn’t just see the word Minecraft and boot the game up, knowing full well what I am about to write.
Indeed, version 1.5 is live. Quite the day for this release to fall on, what with Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 both being as excellent as they are. Minecraft now does weather effects, achievements, statistics (don’t look at these, unless you want to feel tremendous amounts of shame), and more.
The achievements are limited right now, with more on the way, but they currently seem like a great guiding force for players who haven’t bothered to learn crafting. Also, now that there are storms, pigs can be struck by lighting. In a totally metal twist, this occurrence results in them morphing into zombie pigmen.
