Midway Games sponsors sweaty men battling at TNA’s ‘Bound for Glory’ event

TNA Entertainment have announced that Midway Games will be unveiling the upcoming wrestling videogame, TNA iMPACT!. The titles premiere is part of Midway’s title sponsorship for this coming weekend’s “Bound for Glory,” TNA Wrestling’s event in Atlanta. 

“TNA and their superstars have been closely involved in the game’s development,” says Steven Allison, Midway’s chief marketing officer, “and we can’t wait to deliver the authentic and cutting-edge TNA style of wrestling to gamers next spring.”

Personally, I won’t have to wait that long — I’ll be spending some time with the game this weekend, as well as attending Sunday’s “Bound for Glory” Pay-Per-View event. So I guess now would be a good time to mention that I’ve never watched TNA Wrestling in my life. Anyone care to bring me up to speed before I embarrass myself?

TNA iMPACT! is scheduled for a Spring 2008 release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 2.

Atlanta, Georgia (October 8, 2007) – TNA Entertainment and Midway Home Entertainment, a subsidiary of Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment software publisher and developer, today announced the world premiere of the TNA iMPACT! video game as part of Midway’s title sponsorship for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling™’s “Bound for Glory,” taking place next weekend in Atlanta, Oct. 13-14.

As part of ‘Bound for Glory,’ Midway and TNA will feature the world premiere of the TNA iMPACT! video game, scheduled for release in spring 2008 for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Wii™ and PlayStation 2, during the “TNA Bound for Glory Fan Interaction” on October 13, which puts the stars of TNA up close and personal with fans for a once in a lifetime experience

As title sponsor for ‘Bound for Glory,’ Midway has been heavily featured in all promotional materials, including print and radio advertisements, posters and guerilla marketing tactics. A 30-second teaser trailer for Midway’s TNA iMPACT! video game is currently being shown on TNA Today and in many advertisements leading up to the world-premiere unveiling of the game during the ‘Bound for Glory Fan Interaction.’ A “first look” is also scheduled as part of the pay-per-view telecast, and ring skirts will feature the TNA iMPACT! video game logo during Sunday night’s matches
