I’m writing this from an Amtrak Acela express — somewhere between New York City and Baltimore, — on my way home from today’s Midway 2007 Holiday Preview Event. Held in the NYC-based Shop Studios, this was Midway’s last big Holiday load to blow for the press, including journos from various outlets, including Men’s Health, Source Magazine, and well … us.
While there were no wild surprises, this was a pretty great chance to get some last-minute hands-on time with some upcoming Midway titles we’ll be seeing this Holiday. I had some hands-on time with the latest build of the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament III; Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Zombie Ninja Pro-Am for the PlayStation 2; new Blacksite: Area 51 levels on the Xbox 360; Ultimate Mortal Kombat DS; and more. Oh, I also had a few drinks and ate some pretty decent cheese.
Stay tuned for full coverage and impressions of some (if not all … and more!) of these titles. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to try to sleep off the nine Stranglehold-themed tequila-heavy drinks Midway “forced” upon me.
