Microsoft is skipping TGS this year

It skipped announcements at E3, too

To the surprise of no one, Microsoft is skipping out on spending thousands to make an appearance at TGS (Tokyo Game Show) — taking place from September 17 to September 20 this year.

Speaking to Famitsu (translated by Gematsu) Microsoft Japan’s Masayuki Inoue stated, “2015 will continue to provide an attractive game line-up, exclusive titles included. This year, Microsoft will not exhibit the Tokyo Game Show, but we’re making various preparations to deliver the latest Xbox news to fans and media. We will provide an update as soon as we can.”

So, it looks like Microsoft isn’t giving up on Japan entirely, despite the dire situation. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
