Microsoft Flight will be free starting this spring

Though “simulator” is nowhere to be found in the name, Microsoft Flight — due out this spring as a free-to-play PC game — is still very much what it sounds like.

Accommodating new players seems to be a focal point, especially given the price structure, but those serious about getting an experience which mimics real-life aviation shouldn’t turn away. Both audiences, according to Microsoft, are being targeted.

Flight takes place on the Big Island of Hawaii and is a full Games for Windows Live title, complete with Achievements. CES 2012 attendees can play it next week; everyone else, sign up for the beta here.
