Metroid fan album Harmony of a Hunter gets a follow-up

The Metroid series’ 25th anniversary came and went without so much as some silly streamers in the Nintendo offices. As is the case when a company fails to acknowledge its own legacy, the fans came together for a proper celebration. In Metroid‘s case, the fan collective Shinesparkers released a free, two-disc album, Harmony of a Hunter, that featured arrangements of various tunes from across the entire franchise. If you love Metroid and never downloaded this, what’s wrong with you? Do it now!

Just as Samus builds her arsenal with expansions, Harmony of a Hunter is receiving an expansion of its own, entitled 101% Run. It’s a follow-up album that contains several tunes that unfortunately weren’t covered in the original release, as well as additional jams. Several artists from the first album will return, but there will also be new contributors, such as the mind-exploding Vomitron.

If all goes according to plan, 101% Run will be released by year’s end; you can follow its progress via the Harmony of a Hunter Facebook page.
