Festive cheers and best wishes to our community
It’s that time of year again, in fact, it’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year again. Yes, it is indeed The Holidays ™ and I hope that this festive weekend finds each and every one of you happy, healthy, and, at the very least, enjoying some well-earned — hard-earned — rest and relaxation.
This weekend should present the opportunity for good times, good company, and, of course, some good gaming. I often find that the holidays provide one of the few chances I get in the entire year to sit down and play some games “for me”, Y’know? This particular year has seen me playing games for “work-related” reasons perhaps more than ever before, leaving me little opportunity to check out many of 2022’s offerings. A shame, because it’s been a preeetty ace year for gaming, truth be told.
I will be taking the opportunity today to watch some of the films that have passed me by this year, and I may find the time to get stuck into Marvel’s Midnight Suns, which has been sitting patiently on my hard drive since launch day. Oh, And to truly get into the spirit of the season, I will be revisiting The Blob (1988), as it somehow never truly feels like Christmas has begun until Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith jump a gorge on a speeding motorcycle while escaping an all-consuming gelatinous mass.
Speaking of which, I am also aiming to eat my own weight in Pringles and Toffifee before lunchtime.
It goes without saying that whether you’re celebrating Xmas or not; whether you are activating Max Chill mode or grumbling your way into work; or whether you are surrounded by faces or simply enjoying your own company — you deserve to take time for yourself. It’s been another tough year, and you made it through once again. I knew you would. You always do.
