Chiptunes = WIN gets festive
[Update: The chipWINter Bandcamp page is up! There was an opportunity to purchase a limited edition audio cassette of the album, but it sold out in five minutes. Damn!]
It’s the holiday seasoooooooooon!
Brandon Hood of “Chiptunes = WIN” organized the original 51-track behemoth for release back in June. In October, he followed up with an expansion featuring a reduced count of 22 tracks. For the hat trick, there is a modest collection of 14 songs from 14 artists. A far cry from the disgusting excess of the first album, sure, but no less appreciated by the discerning chiptune lover.
As the name implies, chipWINter is holiday-themed delight with which to warm yourself on those cold December nights. I especially love that the lead track is a chip arrangement of Vince Guaraldi’s famous “Linus an Lucy” off the A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. Very classy!
At 9 PM EST, there was a chipWINter listening party on 8bitX Radio‘s “8 Bit Power Hour,” after which the album went live for free on Bandcamp. Now go get it, boyo!
