Mercenary Kings is Contra Pokemon for weapon collecters

Online multi-player 2D combat RPG shenanigans

Mercenary Kings has a lot of surface level appeal. The dot-art mastery of modern animation legend Paul Robertson is enough for many to make the game an instant purchase. Thankfully, the team at Tribute Games (Wizorb) weren’t content to let Paul do all the heavy lifting. They’re really going the extra mile to make this 2D action RPG something special.

We had a (sort of) fast talk with Tribute Game‘s Jonathan Lavigne at PAX East to dig into some of the game’s other features, like online and local split-screen co-op, and the huge amount of weapons you can craft and collect. How many weapons? It’s a lot more than 151, that’s for darn sure.

Check out the interview with Jonathan for more and sound off in the comments about what features you want in the game. The developers are listening.
