MechWarrior Online open beta incoming

Founder’s Program ending soon

After working with players on the closed beta of MechWarrior Online, Piranha Games is nearly ready to transition into the open beta. That will be happening on Tuesday, October 16, and those on the fence about the Founder’s Program have until midnight on October 14 to make up their minds before that initiative will be closing down for good.

In a blog post, Piranha’s Bryan Ekman and Russ Bullock pin down why the time is right. Essentially, they want to avoid testers getting too fatigued by data wipes that are, unfortunately, part of the process for an unfinished game.

They say “it has become time for us to open our doors and allow all of our great players to start progressing towards advancement that they can keep. Also to that point it has become time for us to let in an entirely new batch of players to continue to help us generate the metrics and data which will help us craft the best game possible.”
