Maybe Valkyria Chronicles isn’t dead after all

Sega trademarks Aoki Kakumei no Valkyria

Sega has filed a trademark for something called “Aoki Kakumei no Valkyria” (Valkyria of the Blue Revolution), which may or may not be the next entry in the Valkyria Chronicles franchise.

It’s worth noting the mark can be applied to anything from console games to pachislot machines. So, regardless of whether it pertains to Valkyria Chronicles or not, what this is remains unclear.

Following its initial release on PlayStation 3 in 2008, Valkyria Chronicles was ported to PC last year. The most recent main entry, Valkyria Chonicles III, launched in 2011, but was never localized.

Earlier this year, Sega terminated service for Valkyria Chronciles Duel, a card-based social game for web browsers and mobile devices that Sega and NHN operated since July 2012.

Selvaria Bles and Alicia Melchiott, a couple familiar faces from the series, appear as characters in Sega and French Bread’s new fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.
