Maybe don’t watch this entire Dark Souls III DLC trailer

It gives a bit too much away toward the end

You might already be down for Ashes of Ariandel, the first of two add-ons coming to Dark Souls III. If that’s the case, I’d say watch some — but not all! — of this trailer. It’s made up of a handful of largely unedited encounters in the frigid area, starting with more common enemies and culminating in some boss battles. I wish I would’ve stopped watching at 3:30 and left the rest for October’s launch.

To be fair, there is a spoiler warning up front in the video and, if you’ve seen the prior marketing materials for this DLC, some of the more surprising moments here will be old news to you.

After a long break, I am eager to get back into Dark Souls III. The hunt for the dreaded “Proof of a Concord Kept” covenant item made me lose my sanity given the absolute grind it can be, and I still need about 10 more of the darn things. It’ll be nice to have something new to dig into, particularly an area that feels at least partially reminiscent of Dark Souls‘ Painted World of Ariamis.
