Max for Netflix on PS3 gives you someone to talk to

Siri, call me ‘Space Jam’

The PlayStation 3 Netflix app is getting a Siri-like chatterbox you can talk to on lonely nights and feel less divorced from the rest of humanity. The “personalized conversation experience,” Max, can help you find things to watch based on genre or actor, or it can deliver a random movie it thinks you’ll like based on your browsing history.

I feel like, even if I wanted to use it, Max’s “amusing” personality and delivery would wear thin quickly. Siri is kind of great because her deadpan delivery insists she can’t be arsed to deal with my shenanigans. Max is just trying too hard. Thankfully, “if you never use it, it will eventually move lower on the screen not to get in your way.”

Besides, there’s only one Max I take movie suggestions from. He hosts The Destructoid Show and has painfully handsome hair.
