Sega has dropped a new trailer for upcoming Nintendo Switch sports compendium Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The new video showcases the titles “Dream Events”, competitions and sports that step away somewhat from the strict rules of the real-life Olympics.

The three events featured in the clip are Dream Shooting, a run ‘n’ gun event which sees players compete to blast various targets while making their way through a colourful environment, Dream Karate, a knock-down, drag-out brawl where contenders must fill out the ring with their own designated colour by taking down their opponents, and finally Dream Racing, a stunt-filled, downhill hoverboard race, which immediately recalls the joys of the SSX series.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
is looking to be quite the package. Not only will the title be chock full of events (over 20 in all) for you and your friends and family to compete in, but there’s also online play, a full story mode, a great-looking roster of characters and a smart-looking retro mode – which uses classic sprites and sounds. I think it looks to be a promising and fun multiplayer title.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 launches on Nintendo Switch November 5.
