Mario & Sonic 2014 Olympics bundled with Wii Remote Plus

What a cool deal

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games is hitting the slopes later this week, arriving for Wii U in North America on November 15.

Outside of the novelty of seeing Nintendo and Sega’s mascots compete alongside one another, the game is little more than a competent collection of sports minigames. It’s not particularly good or interesting, but it’s something. And the Wii U sure could probably use more a few more somethings right now, regardless of how compelling they may or may not actually be.

Anyway, for those still straddling the fence, vacillating between whether to join Mario and Sonic for their latest Olympic adventure, Nintendo has decided to sweeten the pot. For just an extra tenner on top of the standard version’s $49.99 asking price, the platform holder offering a bundle with the Wii Remote Plus. Considering standalone controllers aren’t all that much more expensive than the title unto itself, that’s a pretty cool deal if you’re in the market for Mario & Sonic 2014.
