Nintendo has announced that it will be holding a closed beta test of Mario Kart Tour for Android next month. Sign-ups are open now for North American and Japanese players who want to get in on the action.

The beta is scheduled to run from May 22 to June 4. Places are limited, so invites are expected to be handed out at random should the demand exceed the capacity of the beta. Originally announced back in February for a March release, the mobile racer was unfortunately delayed, and is now expected to launch sometime in the summer.

If you want to throw your name in the hat, then you can sign-up over at the official website, with applications closing on May 7. As a reminder, the beta is currently only open to players in North America and Japan. Mario Kart Tour launches this summer for iOS and Android devices.
