Developers Bungie have revealed the seasonal roadmap for Marathon for this year, and there’s plenty of exciting content coming to Tau Ceti IV.

Recommended Videos

The first season goes live at launch on March 5, and we’ll have stuff to look forward to that wasn’t present at the Server Slam. But that’s not all, since Bungie has also revealed the plans for Season 2. Let’s look at all the details we have on the upcoming content.

Marathon 2026 seasonal roadmap

Let’s first look at what to expect from Season 1, which goes live on March 5.

Season 1 content

Season 1 will be our first proper initiation to Tau Ceti IV, and it will be far more hostile than the Server Slam version. Here are the key things we can expect as part of the first season.

  • Unlocked version of the Outpost as the third zone.
  • Cryo Archive as the fourth zone (not at launch).
  • Ranked mode in the second half of March.
  • Complete faction and contract progression.
  • Access to the sixth faction in the form of Sekiguchi Genetics.
  • All six Runner shells, including Thief.
  • 28 weapons, mods, implants, cores, and more to craft.
  • Various comsetics, achievements, and storytelling via the codex.

Season 2 content

While Bungie hasn’t explicitly explained what will go into Season 2 and beyond, we can form some ideas from the information we have.

  • Titled Nightfall, the season will have a bigger UESC threat.
  • New weapons, mods, cores, and implants.
  • New Runner shell.
  • Nighttime version of Dire Marsh, where you need to fight the threat in darkness.
  • A new system called Cradle, which will allow you greater autonomy over Runner Shell’s strengths and weaknesses.

Expect to find more information about the upcoming seasons and beyond once we are deep into Season 1.
