Luke Smith clears schedule to play Halo 3 beta, leaving Ziff Davis

In the most shocking cliffhanger ending since NBC’s Heroes hiatus, the latest episode of The 1up Show ended with news editor, Luke Smith, announcing that he will be leaving Ziff Davis. His last day will be on April 27th.

This comes as a surprise to fans of the show and Smith, who has garnered respect (and healthy doses of haterade) for his hard-nosed approach to gaming journalism. What path he’ll take next is unclear, but word is that he’ll spill the beans on next week’s 1up Yours podcast.

Whatever he decides to do next, we here at Destructoid wish him luck in all of his future endeavors. And wherever fate leads him, let’s hope it involves a good shave, because he used to be so adorable.
