If you’re a fan of LucasArts’ classic PC adventure games, you’ve probably already rapid-fire F5’d your way into the light on this one, but if not, here’s what all the fuss was about yesterday. LucasArts has announced via their Twitter that they’ve partnered with Steam to bring the company’s back catalog of adventure games to the digital service for your point-and-click pleasure.
Among the titles already slated for arrival are Loom, The Dig, Battlefront 2, and the Special Edition Monkey Island that’s also coming to XBLA. They’re scheduled to start hitting Steam on July 8th, and have reportedly undergone testing to ensure that they’ll run in Windows Vista or XP with minimal system requirements and on an array of hardware.
Now that the cat’s out of the bag, details are raining down faster than I could ever put them here, so if this has you bouncing around with excitement, you might just want to head over and watch the tweetstorm as it happens. Hooray?
