Luc Bernard reveals Mecho Wars, it doesn’t look too bad but …

Eternity’s Child didn’t look too bad either.

Obviously, with this being a game from Luc Bernard’s new Wiiware/DS/iPhone company, I can imagine that the entire gamer community will be skeptical, but I hope that Bernard pulls out the goods with this new Advance Wars-esque strategy title, which has now been revealed as Mecho Wars

Luc’s wonderful art style is said to be complimented by an actual design document this time. Bernard and collaborater Shane Gill are handling all the concept, design and story. The programmer is being identitifed only as “Mr. X,” but he claims to have experience with strategy games.

Bernard has some concept art up for Mecho Wars, which shows how he draws the characters and how Gill then turns them into sprites. You can also see a proposed screenshot which looks very much like an Advance Wars combat screen.

It’s very hard to screw up a turn-based strategy, and since I’m personally overjoyed that Luc has returned to the games industry, I hope Mecho Wars turns out well. I’ll be keeping an eye on it for sure.
