Lost Planet 2 being ‘developed for the Xbox 360’

Recommended Videos

Despite the fact that Lost Planet 2 was revealed via Xbox Live, I had personally assumed that Capcom’s sequel would be seeing a simultaneous release on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, if Capcom’s wording has been interpreted right, we may be seeing yet another PS3 delay.

Here’s the publisher’s official word: “Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Lost Planet 2 is being developed for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, following an exclusive announcement on Xbox LIVE that happened Monday, February 23.”

As you can see, no PS3 version has been announced, meaning that until further notice, this is a 360-only title. We fully expect a PS3 announcement, of course, but it may be that we’ll see what happened with the earlier title, with Sony fans having to wait a year for their own release.

Doesn’t make much sense to me, but then I’m not a publisher.
