Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck … comedic gem on the Nintendo DS

How in the world did I miss hearing about this game? Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck hit store shelves September 19, 2007, with little or no love from the gaming community, and I’m sitting here wondering how we let this happen? We’re despicable.

Based on the original Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon, “Duck Amuck,” players get to draw, poke and annoy Daffy Duck in this comical videogame. Much like how Bugs Bunny erased and drew during the Daffy Duck cartoon, players can do the same in 20 different mini-games.

The whole game is aimed at players annoying Daffy Duck so much, that he blows his top. Players can even join up with another player via Wi-Fi to tackle Daffy together. The game kind of reminded me of a virtual pet game like Nintendogs.
The fact that Warner Bros. Interactive decided to turn this classic cartoon into a videogame is pure genius, but I think they failed a little when it came to the look and gameplay of the mini games. Your goals aren’t made clear for each game and the graphics looked pretty bad for some — think Atari 2600.

All in all though, this game is genius … pure genius! I’m suggesting people rent it, at least, just to laugh out loud at Daffy Duck’s hilarious dialog. Pick it up today, so you can love it and hug it and squeeze it and call it George.
