Looks like Samsung wants to get into the VR headset space

It would be focused for mobile devices

Engadget is reporting that Samsung is getting into the virtual reality headset business. The VR headset is being developed by Samsung’s mobile division, and it’s set to be announced sometime this year. Apparently there’s some urgency to get this out before the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus hit the market.

The focus will be for Samsung’s phone and tablet line, and will require the power of upcoming unannounced Galaxy phones and tablets. The screen is reportedly an OLED, comparable to the second version of the Rift dev kit.

Pretty safe to say this won’t be the last time we hear of a tech giant wanting to get into the virtual reality space.
