If you were expecting to hear about what’s new on the Call of Duty front today during Activision Blizzard’s 2011 financial results, I’m sorry to disappoint. While nothing of real substance was said, we did get a couple of teases during the company’s call to investors.
CEO Bobby Kotick explained that we’ll get information about this year’s Call of Duty “in the coming weeks,” presumably during E3. Similarly, that’s when we’ll hear more about Beachhead, the impending “connected digital universe.”
Expect the “largest integrated retail and marketing campaign we have ever executed” for this new Call of Duty. When we finally do hear about this game in an official capacity, we’re going to hear about it nonstop.
