[Mash Tactics airs Monday through Friday at 4p.m. Pacific on Dtoid.TV. Watch Rick ‘King Foom’ Olson play a variety of games, each day with its own theme. With a heavy focus on community and viewer interaction, you can be as much a part of the show as anything else.]

Tonight’s weekly blast from the past on Mash Tactics, is one of my all-time favorite games ever, River City Ransom. Since River City Ransom: Underground got funded on Kickstarter, I’ve been dying to jump back into the original at some point with our live crowd, and this evening, much to my delight, that time has finally come.

Come hang out with us as we punch and kick our way through a variety of gangs in an attempt to rescue River City High from their nefarious clutches. Also expect more than a few trips to the local malls to upgrade our abilities, and of course the occasional trip to the sauna to relax after a hard day of whooping some ass. I’ve always thought that this game was ahead of its time when it was released, and to me, it still stands out as one of the best experiences to be had on the NES. If you somehow missed out on this amazing game way back when, check it out tonight on Dtoid.TV!

QotD: What were some of your favorite titles on the NES?
