Today marks the official day of release for LittleBigPlanet in North America. To celebrate this glorious occasion, Media Molecule and Sony lit up the servers for the game. This will allow cooperative play over the Internet, as well as level sharing.
People who got their hands on an offensive version of LBP before today, as well as those who got their pre-order copies this weekend were greeted with a fairly bleak version of LBP – one that doesn’t have any sort of network capabilities. It certainly makes one question if the game would even be a fourth of what it is without connectivity.
We’ve read a few reports on some of GameStop’s promotional Sackboy costumes not working yet and it’s completely true. According to a posting on PlayStation Blog, there’s nothing to worry about. Media Molecule will be offering up downloads tonight for those lucky enough to get their hands on a Nariko or Kratos skin.
(Update: The Nariko and Kratos codes are now operational.)
