LittleBigPlanet gets October 30 release date … in Japan

Well, it looks like Media Molecule’s PlayStation 3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet finally has a release date. Well, at least it does in Japan; according to Sony’s Japanese LPB Web site, the game will be released on October 30 for 5,980 yen (roughly $56 US).

We’d be lying if we said we weren’t secretly plotting to ninja our way into Media Molecule’s United Kingdom-based offices to grab our own copy of LittleBigPlanet. After it was first revealed over a year ago at GDC 07, we’ve been teased with trailers and empty (so far) promises of a public beta. Give it to us. Now.

No word on when the game will drop in North America, but we’d say October seems like a reasonable month to release to release a game where you control a creepy little sack monster boy.
