Little League World Series Baseball 2010 hitting PS3, 360

Activision must be seeing some kind of meaningful return on their Little League World Series Baseball franchise, because they’re continuing to crank out the games. Today, they announced Little League World Series Baseball 2010, due out this July. But whereas the past two games in the franchise released on the Wii, an appropriate home for the kid-friendly game, this year’s installment is coming out on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 — and there’s no Wii version in sight.

New features include revamped Season and Career modes, but an Activision spokesman made sure to note that while the now-in-HD game is “visually stunning and packed with tons of new content,” it’s still going to be “an accessible pick-up-and-play game for the whole family.” Japanese developer NOW Production remains the team behind the game, which will launch at a budget price of $39.99.

Check out the gallery for five screenshots of the Xbox 360 version. Jonathan Holmes liked LLWSB 2009 when he reviewed it, so let’s hope this year’s game is as good or better. Does it look like fun to you?
