lilt line too is the next level of abstract rhythm action

It’s for the children

Two of my favorite WiiWare games are Art Style: light trax and lilt line (also on iOS). Both have fantastic music, abstract graphics, and easy to learn but hard to master gameplay. Also, they are both about lines. Games about cute classic characters like Mario and Frogger sold well on WiiWare. Games about lines did not. That’s a shame, as lilt line is a lot of fun once you give it a chance. It won that IGF award for a reason.

Thankfully, developer and funnyman Gordon Midwood is moving forward with a sequel. The Kickstarter goal for the game is mere 15K British pounds, which is pretty cheap considering the game will have fancy new polygon based environments, online multi-player, and an all new music by Ill Gates.

They’re also taking suggestions on what other new features to add. I’m hoping to see boss fights that involve traveling into the internal systems of a laser person, dodging the attacks of their laser-based immune systems while making a point to stay on beat. Can a beat-boxing laser baby be conceived at the end of the road? One can dream.
