Like, omigod! Tween girls set to go wild over Dating Day on the DS

If there was ever a reason I’m completely bitter and miserable over the fact that I won’t be covering Leipzig this year, it’s this.

German publisher Daedalic Entertainment will be revealing their Nintendo DS project, Dating Day, at this year’s Games Convention. The title, aimed at girls aged eight through 14, focuses on the all-important first date, which plays out as a series of mini-games. Players will woo the boy of their dreams by designing their own avatar, featuring the latest fashions, like fishnet stockings and keds (that’s what the kids are wearing these days, right?).

While the goods news is that there’s finally a game that speaks to me, the bad news is that Dating Day is quite a ways off. I’m not sure I can wait until Q4 of 2008 for Daedalic to deliver the goods — I have a date with Billy Walsh this Saturday, and I don’t have a clue what I’m going to wear!
