Lies of P has sold a million copies

And that's no lie.

Developed by Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio, and released on September 18, Lies of a P is a soulslike that has managed to stand out in its oversaturated genre by offering a unique take on Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio. Developers have revealed that the game has already sold a million copies globally.

This achievement comes with relatively good critical acclaim, and it currently has “Very Positive” user reviews on Steam. Commenting on the milestone in a press release, Neowiz CEO Seungchul Kim stated that “this incredible milestone for Lies of P proves the potential of Korean console games on the global stage.”

Both South Korean studios should be very proud of their success, though it did not come easily, and Kim reveals that “the Lies of P project was a challenging endeavor for Neowiz and Round8 Studio.” There were also a few minor controversies along the way, including the removal of an anti-cop sign in the game.

Developers are just beginning to enjoy the fruits of their labor, as the game has also received some notable award show nominations. This includes a “Best Visual Design” nomination at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards ceremony.
