It’s been a long, long road, but it appears the Grand Theft Auto 6 info drought is finally, mercifully about to end.
Last night, rumors began circulating about an email sent out from Best Buy to affiliates confirming an impending arrival of pre-orders for the massively anticipated GTA 6. And it’s right around the corner of this upcoming weekend.
Many received the email, and it’s been verified to be real several times over since the news started to circulate, and it all points to a May 18 start date for GTA 6 pre-orders being taken online. That’s this Monday. That’s four days away.
This date lines up with the assumptions and speculation that Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games would have news about the game ahead of the company’s earnings call next Friday. With GTA 6 news circulating for several days by then, it will likely have a big impact on the stock market.
So, what does this mean for the immediate future? Well, we could be getting trailer three any day or moment now. I think that today, tomorrow, and May 18 itself are the most likely dates for it to be uploaded.
It feels like it was only a matter of time for something to leak, for some company to slip up in its information rollout, and it appears this time that it’s Best Buy, the largest consumer electronics chain in North America. Thirteen whole years after Grand Theft Auto V originally released, and it’s finally time for the sequel to be on our consoles. Well, not just yet, because there’s still about six months of actual waiting left. But prepare yourselves for the new trailer and all sorts of info that will stem from it over the next four or five days.
While the Best Buy email doesn’t confirm anything about a trailer or more, the email is real, and GTA 6 is due to launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 19.
