LARPish Japanese Dragon Quest IV commercial

Dragon Quest and live-action weirdness go together like pancakes and peanut butter — the combination isn’t necessarily obvious, but the two fit nicely when you put them together.

This time around, a costumed party travels across the grassy plains to advertise the upcoming Japanese release of the Dragon Quest IV remake for the Nintendo DS. The covered wagon in the commercial represents the addition of a party-containing wagon to the series, first introduced in the original 1990 Famicom release. Also, I’ve added that blonde to my party.

Hit the jump to see a couple of other Dragon Quest live-action madness, including the 1990 commercial advertising the original release of this game.
