NIS America has announced its intentions to bring the upcoming remake of classic RPGs Langrisser I & II to the west. The two-fer, which released in Japan in April of this year, is expected to arrive on PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020.

For those new to the series, the Langrisser franchise launched in 1991 and has received numerous sequels since. Beginning on the Sega Genesis, the franchise has visited a variety of platforms, bringing its highly-strategic warfare and dramatic narratives to platforms such as the PC Engine and the Super Famicom.

The Langrisser I & II remake features fully-voiced cutscenes, re-recorded soundtracks, alongside gameplay overalls and a visual redesign of its cast courtesy of industry stalwart Ryo Nagi (of Ar Tonelico fame). The release is the perfect opportunity for players new to the franchise to experience the deep gameplay and fantastical stories of Langrisser for the first time.
