Konami have posted up a new Japanese job listing that appears to be the equivalent of a pedophile’s ancient van with the words “free ice cream” scrawled hastily on the side. The ad is asking for recruits to work on “new developments” in the Metal Gear series for consoles and “portable arcades” (according to IGN). The page is also asking for help in various award-winning games such as Winning Eleven, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball, and Bemani.
That’s right — sweet MGS taste, then horrible Bemani torture.
The MGS ad could mean anything, especially with the ambiguous phrase “new developments.” Through careful and rational thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that the ad is referring to Metal Gear Solid V: Raiden versus Earth. It’s a game that will put players in the role of the Earth’s various elemental forces in an attempt to kill Raiden. With revolutionary SIXAXIS controls, players will harness the power of wind to strike Raiden to the ground, where they can then shake the controller to create craters, spikes of mountain, or even bottomless lava pits.
MGS V: Raiden vs. Earth is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and iPhone at some point next year.
