Konami offers help for game-breaking Metal Gear Solid V bug, working on a fix

Missions 29 and 42

If you consider vague descriptions of a character that was shown in trailers two years ago to be a spoiler for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, you should probably stay out of here.

For everyone else who wants updates on a game-breaking bug, come right in!

So, how about that bug, eh? Konami knows about it, and as of today, it has offered up some advice.

If you use Quiet on missions 29 or 42, you can trigger this glitch that basically screws up your save file. So! Either don’t use Quiet on those missions, or, as Konami has revealed, use the Butterfly Emblem, or avoid raising your Bond to Quiet to the maximum level during these missions.

Konami doesn’t have an ETA yet on the patch that will recover your save data, but it’s apparently in the works. So there you have it — it’s pretty specific and unfortunate, but now you know.
