It’s looking like gamescom 2014 will be a pretty exciting show. With many of the big hitters set to unveil their new products, we’ve certainly got a lot to look forward to next month. Now, we’ve got another publisher ready to pull out all the stops and showcase some of its finest stuff. Metal Gear Solid fans have been chomping at the bit for some new info, and Konami and Kojima Productions are ready to deliver via livestream.

The publisher will stream a new gameplay demo at gamescom featuring brand new content from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Broadcasting from Cologne’s Musical Dome on August 13, Geoff Keighley will host the live event. During this hour-long session, we’ll get a glimpse of brand new gameplay, areas, and features that were previously hinted at in the past. Following the live demo, there will be a Q&A session with Kojima from fans and press alike.

It’s been an exciting time to be a MGS fan as of late. With the release of Ground Zeroes, the new Phantom Pain E3 trailer, and months of debate about certain features in the game, fans have been keeping themselves busy while waiting for some new details. And now we’re set to get a nice dose of information from the creator himself. With the long-rumored release date still floating around, and the multiplayer mode developed by Kojima Productions’ L.A. branch still kept under wraps, now seems like a great time to start showing off the goods.

What do you think Kojima has in store for The Phantom Pain at next month’s gamescom?
