The fast-paced, hypercolor, dodgebrawl locale of Knockout City has officially gone free-to-play on both PC and console platforms. The spunky, punky title — previously published by EA before handing over duties to developer Velan Studios — made the announcement as the game celebrates the launch of its sixth season of content.

Originally launching in May 2021, Knockout City combines the brutal, playground “fun” of dodgeball with wild superpowers, a large, colorful playing area, and a cast of dynamic, hyperactive players. Teams battle it out across five maps and six distinct modes, utilizing strategy, teamwork, surprise, and an array of gimmicked spheres to outsmart and outthrow the opposition, with the ultimate aim of being the last team standing that doesn’t have a ball-shaped dent in the fo’head.

Knockout City Season 6: City of Tomorrow brings some dope new content to the game including an expanded Hideout, overhauled maps, the tricky Boomerang Ball, and new power-ups including the Starfruit Special drink. Additionally, a variety of new cosmetic items have been added to the shelves of the in-game store, with new clothes, accessories, hairstyles, and vehicles just waiting for your… erm… “Holobux.” Be sure to check out the official patch notes for all of the hot deets.

Knockout City is now free-to-play on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms. All players who have previously purchased the title (and logged in at any time before June) will also receive a special “Loyalty Royalty Bundle”, which is filled with exclusive in-game content.
