Kinect: More than 10 million sensors sold

Microsoft and Guinness World Records have announced today that Kinect is apparently the “Fastest-Selling Consumer Electronic Device” of all time.

That means that the hardware sold an average of 133,333 units per day 60 days following its November 4, 2010 release. This record, which is said to have surpassed that of both the iPhone and iPad, will be included in the next Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition. That is, of course, if the 3DS doesn’t shatter the record before it goes to print…

It’s not the first 30 days that were kind to Kinect, either — Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg is saying that 10 million Kinect sensors and more than 10 million Kinect games have sold to date. I have one, but Microsoft sent me one for review purposes, so don’t count me among the 10 million. Did you buy one?
