Killer Instinct teased in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts demo

Despite sheet music and Viva Pinata cards, Rare has remained fairly tight-lipped about the possibility of a Killer Instinct sequel. That is, until now. Today, we’ve spotted yet another piece to add to the KI mystery in the Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts demo that went live today on Xbox Live Marketplace.

The message is framed in a whimsical way and could just be a joke for people like me who will welcome a return of KI in this current generation. In the Useless Rubbish section of the menus the following question and answer are given:

“What do you know about KI3?”

“I’ve heard its going to star Mighty Bottles. I’m knitting myself a bandana just in case that turns out to be true!”

I haven’t the slightest idea what the hell the answer is all about, but I do know that Killer Instinct 3 needs to happen. Signs of KI 3 are beginning to point to “yes,” so I’ll keep praying at my Cinder altar in hourly intervals since it seems to be working much better than the ritualistic gerbil sacrifices.
