Kill la Kill game follows anime fighter lead, adds alt-characters

‘Don’t call ’em a clone’

I’m so unbelievably on the fence about Kill la Kill: IF. When I saw Arc System Works my eyes lit up, but then I realized that development was under the watch of Aplus Co., who handled Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time, among a few other projects.

Even still, Kill la Kill is so wild and crazy that I think they could pull out an entertaining fighter, possibly with some involvement from Arc: We’ll see. While we wait the official site has been updated and yes, it’s going the “alt character” route (which, depending on how many mechanics are changed, can be perceived as “clones”). Ryuko and Satsuki, the two main draws of the game, are the culprits. The former will sport her rending scissors and the latter will dual wield. That brings the player count, with the two alts, up to 10.

Kill la Kill: IF will launch in 2019 on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
