Sophie Houlden held a Fishing Game Jame last week, resulting in many new fishing games for us to love, though sometimes the term “fishing” is used loosely. Sophie’s game FisherClimer is still in progress, and hasn’t actually integrated any fishing actions yet, but it does have an awesome polygons-meet-Gameboy art style and fun 3D Platforming.

Fishing mechanics are so rife with potential, just as much if not more so than the standard melee or gun combat you see in most action games. It’s great to see so many motivated and intrepid developers take the call to put fishing in the spotlight. Who knows, the world’s next Ridiculous Fishing may be just around the corner.

Just like in a Gameboy game... a nice tight little world... and all its inhabitants... made out of little building blocks... Why can't these little pixels be the building blocks for love..? For loss... for understanding"- James Kochalka, Reinventing Everything part 1 "I wonder if James Kolchalka has played Mother 3 yet?" Jonathan Holmes
