Katy Perry’s Pokemon song ‘Electric’ won’t melt your popsicle, but it should make you smile

I pik-a-chu’d and I liked it

It’s Friday, and if you’re anything like me, this week has been long, exhausting, and mentally draining. I am ready for the weekend recharge, to step away from my work computer, put on Spotify, and lose myself in the music. I have a growing Liked Songs list on the app, and it’s about to get one track bigger with the release of “Electric,” the new song from Katy Perry written and recorded to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pokémon.

Take a listen.

Yep. That sounds right out of her wheelhouse.

“Electric” is just one of 14 songs that will be included on Pokémon 25: The Album, which is slated to release this fall. It’ll join Post Malone’s “I Only Want To Be With You” cover, which was dropped back in February. Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin is also expected to contribute to the album.
