The Pokémon Go Kanto Celebration 2025 brings with it a host of activities to enjoy in the first week of September. The range of festivities not only includes different rewards, but you can also encounter regionals and Dynamax Legendary birds in the wild.
A significant portion of the rewards is part of the special Timed Research that you get to complete during the event. However, different Pokémon will also spawn during the festival, sticking true to the central theme of the celebration.

Dates
The Pokémon Go Kanto Celebration 2025 event began on Sept. 2, and it will continue until Sept. 7, 8pm local time.
Wild Encounters
Expect to find some of the Kanto specials appearing much more often during the event.

- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Pidgey
- Abra
- Slowpoke
- Gastly
- Chansey
- Magikarp
- Snorlax
All of them have a chance to appear as shiny as long as the event is live.
Special Photobomb Spawns
The following creatures will appear as special spawns.
- Bulbasaur
- Ivysaur
- Venusaur
Both Bulbasaur and Venusaur can appear as shiny variants during the event.
Special Evolutions
While the event is live, evolving Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander to their third evolutions will add special moves.
- Evolve Charmeleon to Charizard (Blast Burn)
- Evolve Ivysaur to Venusaur (FrenzyPlant)
- Evolv Wartortle Blastoise (Hydro Cannon)
