Thanks to everyone for all of the support for our first Destructoid Plays community event, Stories From the Apocalypse! We had a total of 33 votes, and for a while it was really close! But ultimately we can’t play them all, so the winning games as chosen by the community will be… (drumroll)

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas!

For any newcomers to the event, and anyone that needs a rehash of the plan for February, the details are as follows:

  1. Starting on Sunday, February 1st, participants can insert their game disc (or load up their digital copy, you heathens) and begin their adventure into the Wasteland, either Washington or Nevada, to start writing their own story from the apocalypse.
  2. Play, play, play! But while doing so, be thinking about how you are spending your time in the Wasteland, and any narrative you are creating.
  3. Write a blog! This can be about anything in particular, but has to be related to the time you spent in the apocalypse, and the experience you had! The deadline for blog submissions will be February 28th, and we will aim to have a recap blog posted the following week of our shared experiences! Feel free to get creative, write together, do a mini-fan fic, have some fun!

Don’t forget, Fenriff, Dreamweaver, and I will also be journeying back into Gran Pulse to save Lightning and Noel from a future gone wrong in Final Fantasy XIII-2! Or perhaps, we’re trying to save ourselves and partially redeem a trilogy that almost brought an entire series towards the apocalypse. Who knows, we’re all nuts.

Those who slay together, stay together.
